My Experience, Your Comments

Hi Everyone,

I have started this blog for people to share information about Pied Piper travel (PP). PP organizes gay groups on luxury cruise ships.  I'd like to share my experience with you and ask you to leave a comment if you have had an experience you would also like to share. 

My friend and I saw a gay cruise to Russia, offered in July, through Atlantis cruises. Unfortunately, the cruise was sold out, so we looked for another gay cruise and came across one offered by Pied Piper Travel (http://home.att.net/~gaygroupcruises/flyers/6-14-08.htm). Fortunately, I didn't book it directly through them, but chose to book it through www.mygayweb.com instead to add a layer of safety. I hadn't heard of Pied Piper travel before, so I was a it nervous to hand over $6000 USD to book the cruise. I couldn't find any reviews on the web, so I decided to book the cruise online.

Three days after I made the online reservation, a representative from MyGayWeb emailed to say that the price of the cabins we chose had gone up $300 each, even though none of the websites had changed their prices. He forwarded an email exchange between himself and pied piper, explaining that prices are always subject to change, as if they are based on gold prices or stock in Apple. Needless to say, my friend and I canceled our reservation. Thanks to the rep at MyGayWeb, PP never received any money because he wouldn't process it without confirming the new price with us first. 

So the point of the blog is to warn others about the prices being subject to change at any time, and see if others have had the same or different experiences with travel arranged by PP. I'm very interested to hear if this is an isolated case, or if it's how they do business in general. The email exchange between MyGayWeb and Pied Piper is below, with the email addresses and last name of the MayGayWeb employeed removed.

You sent me an email the other day that the 2C is $300 pp higher, but that is not reflected on your site. It is showing $2790. Am I missing something?
